2. Board of Studies

The College of Basic Sciences and Humanities has a well defined Board of Studies comprising of the Dean of the college as Chairman, all Heads of the Departments, Senior-most Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor or equivalent of the college, duly nominated as members. The Secretaries of the Board of Studies of the constituent colleges of the University are the special invitees in the meetings of the Board of Studies. The Board conveys to the Academic Council through Resident Instructions Committee (RIC) of the University, courses of studies and curricula for various programmes offered by the college. The Board also considers from time to time the need for revision of the courses and introduction of new courses depending upon the changing scenario and the needs of the region/state/country. The Board also recommends to the Academic Council, through RIC, the admission capacity in each department of the college. Any new degree, diploma programme is also recommended by the Board to the Academic Council for consideration, through RIC, which is finally approved by the Board of Management of the University. The Board of Studies, therefore, is the highest academic authority at the college level.
