Brief Introduction

Dr. Namarta Gupta joined PAU as Assistant Professor (Botany) at CoHSC, Kaoni on 29.09.1995 after completing BSc (Medical) from MCM DAV College for women, Chandigarh, and MSC (Botany) from PAU, Ludhiana in 1991. She did her PhD (Botany) from PAU, Ludhiana in 1996. She joined as Associate Professor on 21.04.2007 and Professor on 21.04.2013. Her field of specialization is Plant Physiology and areas of interest are Abiotic Stress Tolerance, Seed Physiology, Biofortification, Use of Plant growth promoting substances and bacteria. She has guided 18 MSc students and 4 PhD students as major advisor, published    30 research papers in national and international journals. Presently she is the chairperson of the extension committee of department of Botany and member of teaching committee of department of Botany. She is a member of Society for the Advancement of Academics, Sports, and Cultural Activities (SAASCA)  and anti ragging committee of the college of Basic Sciences and Humanities
