Brief Introduction

Dr. Neha Gupta has joined PAU as Assistant Professor (Cytogenetics) on 14.02.2015 after completing B.Sc. (Medical) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 2006. She did her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Botany  during 2008 and 2013 from PAU. Her research focuses on morphoanatomical and physiobiochemical basis of tolerance in wild germplasm of field crops against various biotic and abiotic stresses. She is currently working as Co-PI in two national projects on “Consortia Research Project on Hybrid Technology’ by ICAR and ‘Molecular mapping and introgression of lesser grain borer (Rhyzopertha dominica) resistance from wild wheat Ae. tauschii derived synthetic wheat” funded by DST-SERB in 2023 as CoPI. She has guided 6 M.Sc. students as major advisor and presently supervising 4 Ph.D. students. She has published 26 research papers in national and international journals, 4 book chapters 10 practical and training manuals. She is the member of the Placement Cell committee, COBS&H.
