Brief Introduction


Dr. Sanjay Kumar is working as Principal Agricultural Economist (Professor) in the Agro-Economic Research Centre, Department of Economics & Sociology at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab (India). His research area is farm management and agricultural marketing. He has handled different studies related to the various problems in different agro-climatic regions of India. Dr. Kumar has submitted 71 research reports to the various agencies on different aspects of Indian agriculture like, horticulture crops, land policy, price policy, agricultural mechanisation, input subsidies, farmers’ suicides, post-harvest losses, non-farm employment, agricultural policy, women enterprises, processing of paddy, agricultural diversification, impact evaluation of soil Health Card scheme, Farm loan waiver schemes, Paddy stubble management etc. Dr. Kumar has also been involved as PI/Co-PI in various Social Impact Assessment (SIA) projects for land acquisition by various agencies. Besides, Dr. Kumar has published eighty research papers in different journals of repute. He teaches the various courses of the agricultural economics to the Under Graduate as well as Post Graduate students. In addition, he has guided one Ph.D. and 12 M.Sc. students and presently guiding the one Ph.D. and three students for M.Sc. (Agricultural Economics) degree programme. Dr. Kumar has been associated with various professional societies and has also held various offices in these professional societies.
