Brief Introduction

Dr. Gurjeet Singh Walia is a academic and researcher specializing in Sampling Theory and Sample Survey. He holds a B.Sc. (Non-Medical, 2000), M.Sc. in Statistics (2004), and Ph.D. (2012), all from Punjabi University, Patiala. His professional journey began as a Lecturer in Biostatistics at SGRD Medical College, Amritsar (2005–2006), after which he served as Senior Technical Assistant at Punjabi University (2006–2014). Since 2014, he has been contributing as an Assistant Professor at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. Dr. Walia’s primary research interests include the construction of efficient sampling strategies and the estimation of post-harvest losses—an area highly relevant to agricultural statistics. His scholarly work is reflected in several well-regarded publications in international journals. Noteworthy among these are studies on ratio-type estimators, generalized estimators in stratified sampling, and variance estimation. Dr. Walia has made significant contributions to improving the efficiency and accuracy of data collection and analysis in both academic and applied contexts, particularly within the agricultural sector.
