Brief Introduction

Dr Parveen Bala joined PAU as Assistant Professor (Physics) on 31.03.2009. Regarding educational qualifications, she did B.Sc (Non-Medical) from S. R. Govt College affiliated to G.N.D.U Amritsar in 1997, B.Ed (Science) from Khalsa College Amritsar affiliated to G.N.D.U in 1998, M.Sc (Physics) from the Department of Physics, Guru Nanak Dev University in 2000 and qualified CSIR (NET) in 2002. She completed her Ph.D from Department of Physics, Guru Nanak Dev University in 2009. Before joining PAU, she worked in various institutes such as Govt. College, Patti, Department of Physics, GNDU, Dr B R Ambedkar NIT, Jalandhar, D.A.V. College, Amritsar on adhoc basis. Her field of specialization in Theoretical Plasma Physics and area of interest is nonlinear wave structures. She has completed a project entitled “Theoretical study of non-linear wave structures in space plasma” funded by UGC in 2013. She has guided 21 M.Sc students as major advisor. She has published 34 research papers in various national and international journals. She has attended and presented papers in 27 conferences. She is life Member of various societies such as Plasma Science Society of India (PSSI), Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and Punjab Academy of Sciences (PAS).
