Dr. Tanya Thakur joined PAU services as Scientist (Floriculture and Landscaping), Department of Floriculture and Landscaping, PAU, Ludhiana in August 2018. Her field of specialization is production technology of marigold and protected cultivation of flowers along with breeding new varieties of marigold. She is associated in writing of five book chapters and one practical manual. She has guided three M.Sc. and one Ph.D. student and guided one advisory groups of B.Sc. Hort. (Hons.). She has published 29 research papers and participated in four conferences of National and International repute. She is handling project on ‘Value addition in Floriculture’ as Co- investigator under National Horticulture Mission, Punjab Government. She is a life member of many professional societies dealing with plant sciences. Besides, she has written five extension articles, one pamphlet on botanical garden and delivered two radio talks, rendered advice to flower growers for cultivation of flowers under open conditions and protected conditions.
