Dr GPS Dhillon is associated in the release of eight clones/varieties ofagroforestry tree species viz. L-47/88 and L-48/89 of poplar, PE-11, C- 72, C-413 and C-2045 of Eucalyptus, Punjab Dek-1 and Punjab Dek-2 of Burma Dek. He also recommended planting technology of Eucalyptus under water logged saline soils. Dr Dhillon also recommended spacing and direction of poplar plantation. He established Mist chamber facility in the Department of Forestry and achieved success in mass multiplication of superior clones of Eucalyptus and shisham. Dr Dhillon selected plus trees of Shisham, Eucalyptus, Burma Dek and Toon and established VMGs of these species. He was also associated with All India Coordinated Research Project on Agroforestry since 2005. He contributed 185 scientific and other publications. Guided 20 M.Sc. students and taught 250 credit hours of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in forestry and environment science. Delivered 30 lectures in short-duration training, Kisan melas and attended Vanmahaotsava shows.
