Brief Introduction

Dr Navneet Kaur completed B.Sc. Agriculture (1998), M.Sc. Agronomy (2000), and Ph.D. Agronomy in 2013 from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. She started her career as Assistant Agronomist at PAU in 2004 and then worked as Senior Agronomist from 2017 to 2020. Currently She is working as Principal Agronomist since 2020. Over the years, she has been actively involved in research, teaching and extension. Her main research interests are in the field of agroforestry to study tree-crop interactions, and management of agroforestry systems for higher yields and sustainability. Her current research work focuses on developing region-specific agroforestry models for sustainable farming; and integrating high-value tree species like sandalwood with suitable crops to enhance farmer income and ecological benefits.

Research Interests:

  1. Tree-crop interaction studies
  2. Management of agroforestry systems

Projects accomplished:

  1. Development of suitable agroforestry models of different tree species in Punjab – Department of Forests and Wildlife Preservation, Punjab.
  2. Development of package of cultural practices for Jatropha- NOVOD Board, MoA, GOI.

Ongoing Projects:

  1. All India Coordinated Research Project on Agroforestry (AICRP) – ICAR.
  2. Development of Sandalwood based Agroforestry models- ICFRE, Dehradun.
