Brief Introduction

Sandeep Singh is working on eco-friendly management of insect pests of fruit crops since 21 years and has more than 125 recommendations included in the Package of Practices of PAU, Ludhiana, the prominent being the PAU fruit fly trap. He has 29 national recommendations under AICRP on Fruits. Dr Singh has more than 550 publications and has taught 37 courses to B.Sc./M.Sc. classes and farmers. Dr Singh has organized TAAO international symposia on fruit flies in Malaysia (2016) and China (2024). He has handled/handling projects funded by ICAR, DST, DBT, UGC, NABARD, MIDH, UGC, Govt. of Haryana, Revolving Fund scheme and a number of industry sponsored projects.  Dr Singh has visited USA, Italy, Australia (2014 and 2022), Thailand (2014 and 2023), China (2017 and 2024), Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, on official assignments. He is the editor of the prestigious journal “Pest Management in Horticultural Ecosystems”.

  1. Working on eco-friendly approaches in the management of insect pests of fruits crops, IPM, pheromones traps, biological control. 
  2. Additional responsibility of insect-pests of flowering plants.
