Brief Introduction

Dr. Shashi Kumar Singh did B. Tech, M.Tech and Ph.D from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He is a Principal Scientist (Renewable Energy Engineering) at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. He has over 30 years of experience in the fields of farm machinery, spray technology, renewable energy, liquid biofuel, and energy auditing in agriculture. He has led and contributed to several important national and institutional research projects. He has published 30 research papers in reputed journals and authored a book, book chapter, research bulletin, and a manual. He has received several awards, including the Innovative Student Project Award (Doctoral level) awarded by Indian National Academy of Engineering and the G.S. Khush Team Award for excellence in technology transfer. He also served as member of editorial board for Agricultural Engineering Today.

  3. Submission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM) on Strengthening of Farm Machinery Testing Centre.
  4. Efficacy study of aerial spraying system to control pests for different crops.
  5. Assessment of crop residue availability and its potential in Punjab for bio-refining.

  4. Best poster paper award for the paper on “ Self-propelled paddy transplanter operated boom sprayer” presented during 48th ISAE annual convention & symposium on Engineering Interventions in Conservation Agriculture held on 21-23 Feb.2014 at MPUAT, Udaipur.
  5. Best poster paper award for the paper on “Effect of Orifice Opening Area and Spinning Disc Speed on the Performance of a Tractor Operated Fertilizer Broadcaster”.
