Dr Amit Kaul holds a B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture from Khalsa College, Amritsar (2006), and earned his M.Sc. (Agronomy) in 2009 and Ph.D. (Agronomy) in 2013 from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. Soon after completing his doctoral degree, he joined as Assistant Professor (Agronomy) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bahowal (Hoshiarpur) on December 3, 2013. In February 2014, he was transferred to the Farm Advisory Service Centre, Pathankot, as District Extension Scientist (Agronomy). In this role, he also managed the university seed farm at Pathankot and played a key role in establishing KVK, Pathankot. After the successful setup of KVK, he was transferred on June 21, 2017, as Assistant Professor (Agronomy) at KVK, Pathankot and later joined the Department of Agronomy, PAU, Ludhiana, as Extension Scientist (Agronomy) in February 2021 (till date). He has organized 25 field days, 36 one day and 6 one week farmer trainings, delivered 11 TV talks and 289 technical lectures, and participated in 25 exhibitions to guide farmers regarding the various aspects of better cultivation practices of field crops in Punjab. He has published 60 popular articles, 2 booklets and 13 research papers and has been associated with 5 research projects as Co-Principal Investigator.
Research Interests:
Conduct research on agronomic aspects of different field crops and resource management techniques for increasing crop productivity in face of emerging issues of sustainable crop production.
