Brief Introduction

Dr Kulvir Singh Saini joined PAU as Assistant Professor, KVK Kapurthala (27.12.1995-11.07.1996), Assistant Agronomist (RRS Bathinda 12.07.199606.08.2003), Assistant Agronomist, Department of Agronomy, PAU, Ludhiana (07.08.200326.12.2004), Agronomist, PAU, Ludhiana (27.12.200415.07.2009), Associate Professor, Department of Agronomy, PAU Ludhiana (16.07.2009-26.12.2010), Professor (27.12.2010-27.02.2015) Principal Agronomist, Department of Agronomy, PAU, Ludhiana (28.02.2015-till date). His field of specialization is Crop Production, Water Management, Crop Ecology, Intensive Crop Cultivation and Conservation Agriculture. He held additional charge of Farm manager from June 2004 to July 2010, Farm Incharge and Incharge PCP from April 2017 to 2021. I have completed two competitive projects as CO-PI: 1. Bilateral Project ACIAR project on, “Permanent raised beds for irrigated rice-wheat and alternate cropping system in North-West India and South-East Australia” and 2. NAIP project on, “Sustainable livestock farming system for livelihood security in Hoshiarpur district of Punjab under component-3 and also accomplished three research projects evaluation of new products i.e., Gluco Beta- Micronutrient enriched organic growth promoters on cotton, Tata Bahaar- Amino acid based gluconated nutrients enriched organic growth promoters on cotton and evaluation of customized fertilizer in wheat. I have guided two UG classes of B Sc Agri 4 Year (Batch 2008) and B Sc Agri 6 Year (Batch 2012) programmes as Class Incharge and also guided 9 M Sc and 5 Ph D students as major advisor. Acted as Centre Superintendent, Asst. Coordinator (Conduct), Asst. Coordinator (Evaluation) and Coordinators in AAT, CET, BSET, MET and PET in various entrance examinations to assist Controller of Examination, PAU for the admission to different programmes of PAU from Academic years 202-2 to 2025-26. Published 85 research papers in national and international journals, 45 extension articles and presented 15 papers in national and international conferences. From my research work 52 technologies have been included in the Package of Practices for the crop of Punjab Kharif and Rabi which are widely adopted by the state farmers. Also delivered 30 Radio talks and 1 TV talk at All Indian Radio Stations at Bathinda, Jalandhar and Doordarshan Jalandhar. Performed the various duties as Chairperson of different Committees at COA and University levels. Presently working as Chairperson of Examination Vigilance Flying Squad Committee of COA since July 2017.
