Brief Introduction

Dr. Jagroop Kaur Sekhon joined PAU as District Extension Specialist (Agronomy) on 09.01.2007 after completing B Sc Agri (Hons) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana in 2002 and M Sc (Agronomy) from PAU, Ludhiana in 2004. She did her Ph D in Agronomy from PAU, Ludhiana in 2016. She has worked as Research Fellow in ‘Network Project on Organic Farming’ at PAU for two years (01.02.2005 to 08.01.2007). She joined as Senior Agronomist on 09.01.2020 and Principal Agronomist on 09.01.2023 (till date). Her field of specialization is Water Management. She got one competitive project as PI funded by DBT during 2021 to 2025. She has guided 4 M Sc students as major advisor, published 37 research papers in national and international journals, 38 extension articles and involved in development of 7 production technologies and testing of 3 technologies. She has delivered 7 radio/TV talks and 50 lectures in various extension programmes. She is a life member of Indian Society of Agronomy.
