Brief Introduction

Completed B Sc. (Agriculture)   in 1991 from Khalsa College, Amritsar and M Sc. &  Ph.D (Soils) from PAU, Ludhiana in1993 and 2005, respectively. Joined PAU as DES (Soils), at Kaputhala headquarter from 1994 to 2005. In year 2005 joined PAU, Ludhiana as Soil Chemist. Presently I am working as Principle Soil Chemist in Department of Soil Science since 2010. Handled eight research projects as Principal Investigator (PI)/Co-PI. The major area of research interest is soil and water pollution for sustainable management of these natural resources in Punjab. Also worked on surface and groundwater pollution. Irrigation water quality index  for Beas and after confluence waters remained consistent, while for Sutlej River, it deteriorated during 2004-2020. I have also worked on nutrient indexing of different crops and fruit trees and developed DRIS norms for various crops such as rice, maize, cotton, guava, and Ber. As an in charge of Soil and water testing services, guided farmers for judicious use of fertilizers on soil test based and recommended different amendments for safe use of irrigation water. Also, developed software for on- line appraisal of soil and water testing reports for the farmers.
