Mr. Kamaljeet Singh from Ludhiana visited the NIDHI-TBI (DST, GoI) team and the School of Business Studies, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, seeking guidance and support for new product development in his fox-nut (makhana) business.
Dr. Ramandeep Singh, PI, NIDHI-TBI and Director, SBS–PAU, welcomed the visitor, addressed his queries, and showcased his products to the worthy Vice-Chancellor, PAU,Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, in the presence of the NIDHI-TBI team and Dr. Amarjeet Kaur, Scientist, Department of Food & Nutrition, PAU.
Dr. S. S. Gosal, Honourable Vice-Chancellor, PAU, appreciated the entrepreneurial initiative and encouraged Mr. Kamaljeet Singh to diversify his product range. He advised exploring the development of makhana powder and other value-added products with the support of university experts.
Dr. Ramandeep Singh also shared key insights on marketing, networking, and product expansion strategies, urging the entrepreneur to introduce innovative variants to reach a wider consumer base.
Dr. Amarjeet Kaur guided the entrepreneur on value-added fox-nut product possibilities and highlighted several formulations under development at the university such as fox- nut pasta and puffs. She further assured comprehensive technical support for future product development needs.
Mr. Gurinder Singh, CEO, NIDHI-TBI, suggested a practical waste-management solution by exploring the potential use of leftover cleaning material as pet animal food, subject to feasibility. He emphasized adopting sustainable, eco-friendly practices to strengthen long-term business growth.
Mr. Sameer Gautam, BM, NIDHI-TBI, facilitated the entrepreneur through the enrollment process and recommended key improvements in product labeling to enhance brand visibility and market readiness.
Later, the NIDHI-TBI team visited the entrepreneur’s operational facility, appreciated his ongoing efforts, and assured continued support through relevant networking channels, domain linkages, and institutional guidance to help scale his fox-nut venture effectively.
