Dr Gagandeep Kaur, Principal Fruit Scientist, has been appointed as Chief Warden of Girls’ Hostels at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, under the Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW). The appointment, made by the Vice-Chancellor, PAU, is for a term of two years, in addition to her existing responsibilities.
Welcoming her to the new role, Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director of Students’ Welfare, expressed confidence that Dr Gagandeep Kaur’s experience and commitment would further strengthen hostel administration and student welfare services. He noted that she brings valuable administrative experience, having earlier served as Assistant Warden and Warden of Girls’ Hostels for three years.
Sharing further details, Dr Jaura informed that PAU has seven girls’ hostels catering to undergraduate and postgraduate students, besides the International Students’ Hostel, which accommodates women students from overseas.
On the occasion, Dr K.S. Suri, Joint Director Students’ Welfare; Dr Yogita Sharma, former Chief Warden Girls’ Hostels; Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Culture); Dr Dharminder Singh, Chief Warden Boys’ Hostels; along with Wardens and Assistant Wardens of Girls’ Hostels and Sh. Gurpreet Singh Virk, Welfare Officer, were also present.
