Lieutenant Colonel Faizaan Zahoor and Sub Major Sukhdev Singh of 19 Punjab Battalion NCC, Ludhiana, visited Punjab Agricultural University today and held a meeting with Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, PAU and discussed regarding NCC Courses with the university’s NCC team.
Lieutenant Colonel Faizaan Zahoor and Sub Major Sukhdev Singh appreciated the commitment and efforts of the PAU NCC team and expressed confidence that continued institutional support from the university would significantly contribute to the holistic development of cadets. The interaction focused on strengthening coordination between the PAU NCC Unit and the Battalion to ensure smoother functioning of NCC activities on campus. Key issues related to cadet training, conduct of camps, administrative coordination, and routine operational matters were discussed in detail. Both sides jointly reviewed existing bottlenecks and practical challenges affecting the NCC unit and arrived at workable solutions for immediate as well as long-term improvement. Future prospects also formed an important part of the discussion. The meeting explored possibilities for expanding training activities, improving cadet participation, introducing structured leadership development initiatives, and ensuring stronger representation of PAU cadets in national-level NCC programs.
Dr Nirmal Jaura emphasized that NCC plays a vital role in shaping students’ character by instilling discipline, leadership qualities, and a strong sense of national service. He noted that regular engagement and close coordination with the Battalion would further enhance opportunities, exposure, and support for NCC cadets at PAU. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to sustained collaboration and effective coordination in the larger interest of student development and NCC excellence.
