An Ex-Trainees Sammelan and Certificate Distribution Programme was organized at PAU-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur on 05 February 2026. The programme was conducted to discuss the progress, current status, and problems faced by ex-trainees while running their enterprises. Ex-trainees of different vocational trainings participated in the programme.
The event was graced by S. Hardeep Singh, Deputy Director, Horticulture, who acted as the Chief Guest. While addressing the trainees, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of self-employment and entrepreneurship in the agriculture and allied sectors and encouraged trainees to adopt these enterprises for income generation. He discussed different schemes of State Horticulture Department (Punjab/India) that benefit mushroom growers, vegetable growers and fruit growers which include subsidies and technical support programmes. He urged the farmers interested in these schemes should reach out timely to their District Horticulture Office or Block Horticulture office in district.
Incharge , KVK Sangrur, Dr. Mandeep Singh while addressing the trainees, highlighted that the training programmes conducted by KVK have enabled many trainees to establish successful self-employment enterprises in mushroom cultivation, vegetable production, beekeeping, stitching and bakery & agro-processing etc. He emphasized that continuous technical guidance and follow-up support from KVK play a vital role in the sustainability and success of these enterprise and highlighted the role of skill-based training in enhancing livelihood opportunities and promoting agri-based entrepreneurship in the district.

Certificates were distributed to the successful trainees and progressive ex-trainees, Baljinder Singh & Balkar Singh, Mushroom grower), Baljinder Singh (Beekeeper), Beant Kaur (Beant Boutique) and Gurpreet Kaur were honored.
Dr. Gurbir Kaur, Dr. Ravinder Kaur and Dr. Vitasta were also present on the occasion ad answered technical queries of the trainees.
The programme concluded with a fruitful interaction with trainees and a vote of thanks.
