Brief Introduction

Dr. Lopamudra Mohapatra is an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Extension Education in the Department of Extension Education. She earned her bachelor’s degree in agriculture from Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar in 2006. Following her graduation, she pursued her master’s degree in agricultural extension education with ICAR JRF at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. Following her master degree she served as Agriculture Officer for Axis Bank Ltd. After two years in the corporate sector she returned to Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana to pursue her doctorate with an award of INSPIRE fellowship from Department of Science & Technology, GOI. Prior to joining the Department she served as Assistant Agriculture Officer, Government of Odisha from 2013 to 2015. Diring this period she contributed to the education of the tribal farmers of Odisha state with the AEA, IPM, FFS. She was involved in the implementation of major schemes of GOI (NFSM, RKVY, ATMA, BGREI) & all the programmes of Government of Odisha and involvement with outreach programmes of IRRI. She joined PAU in 2015 starting her contribution to teaching, research and various outreach programmes of the University. She has significantly contributed to the evaluation of Crop & Livestock Insurance, Resource Conservation Agriculture and additionally towards the assessment of technologies supporting the achievement of SDGs. 

Important Achievements:

  1. Development of Instructional Videos on INM, Agri Diksha Platform.
  2. Published 38 research papers, 3 book chapters in national & international repute.
  3. Guided 1international student for MSc. Programme from Afghanistan and currently guiding another scholar for M.Sc from Eswatini.
  4. Guided 6 M.Sc students and currently 2 M.Sc and 2 Ph.D Scholars.
  5. Awarded with research project “Farmers’ livelihood security and sustainability through integrated nutrient management” funded by SYST, DST, SEED Division.
  6. Awarded with 2 Best Oral Presentation in 2012 & 2023 by Society for Community Moblization for Sustainable Development, New Delhi & Indian Society of Extension Education, New Delhi respectively.
  7. Facilitator for Bright Spots of Sustainable Agriculture Project, University of Hohenheim, Germany
  8. Invited Speaker in trainings for Agriculture Scientists & Agriculture Development Officer.
  9. Served as the Warden & Assistant Warden for 9 years 8 months the Girl’s Hostel of PAU.
  10. Established three Farmer’s Information Centre at the Cooperative Society in Villages Kanech, Rauwal & Bhundri.
