Brief Introduction

Education : B.Sc Agriculture (Hons.)/College of Agriculture, PAU, Ludhiana (1990); M.Sc Plant Breeding/College of Agriculture, PAU, Ludhiana (1993); Ph.D. Plant Breeding/College of Agriculture, PAU, Ludhiana (1997).

Positions held : Asstt. Plant Breeder (1997-2006); Plant Breeder (2006-2012); Principal Soybean Breeder (2012- till date)

Field of Specialization: Soybean Breeding

Research Interests: Breeding improved varieties of soybean, rajmash, fieldpea, mungbean and urdbean

Research Projects:

  1. All India Coordinated Research Project on Soybean.
  2. Breeding pulse crops for higher yield, quality and stability of performance.
  3. Marker assisting stacking of yellow mosaic disease resistance, null Kunitz trypsin inhibitor, null lipoxygenase-2 genes, and broadening the genetic base of soybean (CC-PI) funded by NASF, ICAR New Delhi.
