Dr Manjeet Kaur Sangha, Principal Biochemist, is presently the head of Biochemistry Department, COBS&H, PAU, Ludhiana. She has additional charge of Head, Department of Chemistry, since September 21, 2021. She did her B.Sc. in 1986 (5th position) from Panjab University, Chandigarh and M.Sc. and Ph. D from PGIMER, Chandigarh in 1988 and 1994 respectively. She cleared Joint CSIR-UGC NET in 1989 and ASRB NET in Oct. 1995. She joined PAU, as Assistant Biochemist in Department of Biochemistry in August, 1998. She has handled two research projects as PI (DBT and UGC) and 3 as Co-PI. She was the Coordinator of Examination of COBS&H from 2017-2020. Her research focused on biochemical basis of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance and quality evaluation of crops viz. Brassicas, cotton, okra and bitter gourd. She has published 65 research papers, one book, three book chapters and two review articles. She has taught UG and PG courses to students of the department and other departments of PAU. She has guided 21 M. Sc./IM and 6 Ph. D. students. She was Convener of Fine Arts activities of her college. Two of her students are working as Assistant Professors. She has delivered invited lectures in many CAFT trainings in PAU. She was subject expert for selection of candidates in projects of GADVASU. She was also member of assessment committee for assessing the promotion cases under CAS. She has evaluated M Sc and Ph D theses of students of universities other than PAU.
