College of Basic Sciences & Humanities / Biochemistry / Thrust Areas
Research work primarily focuses on implementation of Biochemical, Molecular and Omic approaches to decipher/identify stress tolerance mechanisms in cereals, pulses, oil seeds, cotton, and horticultural crops against abiotic and biotic stresses.
Department is involved in nutritional quality analysis of different crops. Low acrylamide forming wheat lines are identified using allele mining and CRISPR/Cas 9 based genome editing. Milling quality of various basmati and non-basmati rice genotypes are also evaluated.
