The Alumni Association, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, in collaboration with the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology organized a workshop on “Digital Agriculture: AI, Research Publishing and Entrepreneurship.” Dr Kenneth B Kent, Professor, Faculty of Computer Science, University of New Brunswick (UNB), Canada, who was on a two-day visit to the university, delivered the talk. Dr Kent is currently Barrett Chair in Entrepreneurship for Digital Transformation, Director of the IBM Centre for Advanced Studies-Atlantic UNB, and Honorary Professor at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, Germany.
The workshop was attended by about 50 postgraduate students and faculty of the college. Dr Kent spoke on AI-Driven Digital Twin for Biogas Plant Simulation, Monitoring and Optimization; Playing the Publication Game; and Entrepreneurship through IP and Commercialization. The students keenly participated in discussions through various sessions.
Dr Manjeet Singh, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, said that AI and Digital innovations in the field of Agriculture were the need of the hour and motivated the students and faculty to focus their research in these areas. He shared that Dr Harpreet Kaur recently completed her Ph.D under Dr Kent’s supervision in UNB, Brunswick.
Dr Preetinder Kaur, President of the Alumni Association, emphasized the relevance of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twins in modelling physical systems and highlighted the importance of Research Publishing and Entrepreneurship for personal as well as professional growth of students.
The workshop concluded with certificate distribution to participants and appreciation to Dr Kent for putting his untiring efforts in making this workshop successful.

ਇਸ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਲਈ ਖੇਤੀ ਇੰਜਨੀਅਰਿੰਗ ਕਾਲਜ ਡੀਨ ਦੇ ਕਾਨਫਰੰਸ ਹਾਲ ਵਿਚ 50 ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹੇ| ਤਿੰਨ ਸ਼ੈਸਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਈ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਚਰਚਾ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਬੰਧਿਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਉਂਤਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ| ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸ਼ੈਸਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਸੁਕਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਆ| ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਡਾ. ਕੇਂਟ ਨੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿਚ ਖੇਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਅਤੇ ਏ ਆਈ ਰੁਝਾਨਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਾਨਣਾ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਖੋਜ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਿਤ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਸੰਬੰਧੀ ਮੁੱਲਵਾਨ ਨੁਕਤੇ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ|
ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਡੀਨ ਡਾ. ਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵਕਤਾ ਲਈ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਕਹਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਈ| ਅਲੂਮਨੀ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਡਾ. ਪ੍ਰੀਤਇੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦੀ ਸਾਰਥਕਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ|
