Brief Introduction

Dr (Mrs.) Manpreet Kaur, Professor (Chemistry) took over the additional charge of Head, Department of Chemistry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) Ludhiana on October 03, 2025.  She did her B.Sc. (Medical) in 1996 and M.Sc. (Chemistry) in 1999 from Punjabi University Patiala and Ph.D. (Chemistry) in 2005 from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. She was awarded Junior Research fellowship (JRF) by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. She bagged Role of Honour for university position and College Colours for securing merit position in Punjabi University during B.Sc. She joined PAU as Assistant Professor on 25.06.2010 and has research and teaching experience of 22 years. She is actively involved in teaching graduate and postgraduate courses. She has formulated and revised UG and PG courses in Chemistry, e-course under NAHEP (ICAR), published two text books on Physical Chemistry and two laboratory manuals. She has guided 22 M.Sc., 07 Ph.D. students and some of her students are selected as doctoral fellows in international institutes of repute. She is working as Co-coordinator external examination and member Academic Committee, COBS&H. She has handled major research project funded by UGC New Delhi as Principal Investigator and has 65 research publications of international repute and presented 42 papers in National and International conferences. She prepared PAU sanitizer for distribution in PAU main campus and outstations as team leader during Covid pandemic. She is a subject expert for selection of candidates for other universities/institutes. She has organized university level and state level ICAR and DST sponsored trainings for students and teachers. Her research field is Materials Chemistry, focused on ferrites and oxides-based composites for potential applications as adsorbents, photocatalysts, and enzyme mimics.
