College Book Bank College Library (Digital)

The College level Book Bank has been recently established in the COBSH. Books (worth Rs.5 Lakhs approx.) pertaining to different subjects have been purchased in the last three years. The digitization of the library is under process. All the departments of the College have their own Libraries and Reading Rooms for the use of students and faculty. These cater to the needs of UG and PG students, as well as the faculty.

 Mushroom Research Complex

At present, a Mushroom Research Complex (17 span) named as Dr H.S. Garcha Mushroom Research Laboratories has been established with well-equipped lecture rooms, a Committee Room, Labs, controlled growing walk-in-chambers, pasteurization tunnel, composting yard and growing space. A low cost, rural-oriented, labour-intensive mushroom cultivation technology has been successfully transferred to the mushroom growers of not only Punjab state but also the adjoining areas. The developmental activities undertaken at PAU in the form of specialized training courses, lectures-cum-demonstrations, exhibitions, analytical services, etc. as well as awareness programmes through electronic (TV and radio) and print media (newspapers, magazines, etc.) have led to increased awareness among the farmers about the importance of mushroom cultivation as a subsidiary occupation. The spawn production unit at PAU has provided a back-up facility for the growers to obtain quality mushroom spawn for cultivation. Besides farmers, the kitchen gardeners are given bags of compost mixed with seed and casing to see mushrooms growing at home. The department generates about Rs. Five lakh annually from the mushroom section.

Biofertilizer Production Unit

This facility is housed in the Press Building of the university. It is equipped with instruments as Incubators, Laminar Air Flow, Autoclave, Physical Weighing Balance, Shakers, Refrigerator and a Hot Air Oven. Revolving fund for biofertilizer production has been functioning since 1995. It produces and sells biofertilizers to farmers on no-profit-no-loss basis. At present, bacterial biofertilizers are recommended for use in 18 crops- cereals, cash crop, vegetables, spice, legumes and fodder crops. Income generated by sale of biofertilizers was Rs. 26.5 Lakhs in the year 2022-23.

Exhibition Hall/Museum

The College has one Museum of Natural History, located in the Department of Zoology that showcases the evolution, distribution, anatomy and functional organization of the representative fauna of animal kingdom, through specimens, models and wall mountings. The museum is used to demonstrate functional organization of the representative fauna of animal kingdom etc.

The College also has one Botanical Garden, where rare and endangered species of plants have been conserved
