College of Agriculture organized a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) lecture cum demonstration with the aim of creating awareness about life-saving emergency techniques among students and staff.
The session was conducted by Dr Rajesh Arya, Consultant Cardiac Anaesthetist, Hero DMC Heart Institute, Ludhiana who explained the importance of timely CPR in cardiac emergencies. The lecture covered essential topics such as recognizing cardiac arrest, performing chest compressions, rescue breathing, and using basic life-support techniques.
Following the lecture, a live demonstration was carried out using training mannequins, allowing participants to understand the correct method and posture for performing CPR. Students and Faculty actively participated in the hands-on session and clarified their doubts, making the program highly interactive and informative.
Dr P K Kingra while welcomed the Chief Guest. The event was coordinated by Dr Som Pal Singh, Dr Harmeet Singh and Dr Pankaj Kumar. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members where around 500 participants were there. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, emphasizing the need for such practical training programs to prepare individuals to respond confidently during medical emergencies.
