DIAMOND JUBILEE ALUMNI MEET, 2026 COLLEGE OF COMMUNITY SCIENCE

The College of Community Science, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana organized its Diamond Jubilee Alumni Meet today in the lawns of the College.  Alumni from different states of the country and abroad attended the meet to revive the memories of their college days.   More than 300 alumni registered for the meet.  The same was attended by four former Deans of the College namely, Dr Sukhwant Kaur Mann,     Dr Neelam Grewal, Dr Jatinder Kaur Gulati and Dr Sandeep Bains, beside large number of retired faculty.

The Programme started with invocation to seek the blessings of the almighty. The Chief Guest of the occasion, the worthy Vice Chancellor, Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, kickstarted the event with the release of balloons.  He appreciated diverse accomplishments and leadership of College alumni across various fields in order to uplift the quality of education and holistic development.  He congratulated all alumni to make this occasion memorable with their presence.  Dean of the College, Dr Kiran Bains aprised the alumni of the achievements of the college on academics, sports and extra curricular activities.  The Alumni Directory and Comalumnus 2025-26, the souvenir, were also released.  The former Deans were felicitated on this occasion. The senior most Dean, Dr K K Sharma presided over the function.  She shared her insights drawn from first-hand experience and further inspired the faculty to adopt innovative approaches, strengthen professional commitment and strive for excellence in their academic roles. Padam Shri, Mrs Rajni Bector, who was the Guest of Honour, spoke about her entrepreneurial journey, highlighting her experiences and strategic decisions that led to establishment of her successful entreprise.

A documentary comprising of college facilities, activities and events since inception was showcased on this occasion.  Being the Diamond Jubilee Alumni Meet, the alumni of batch 1966 to 1976 were felicitated on this occasion. The alumni enthusiastically visited the ‘Almaconnect,’ a new facility created for alumni of the college. Fun time included many performances by the students, faculty and alumni.  Surprise gifts were given to the winners of different games.

The Registrar, Director of Research, Dean, Postgraduate Studies, Director Students Welfare, Dean, College of Agriculture, Dean, College of Horticulture & Forestry, Chief Engineer and other officers of PAU, Ludhiana also graced the occasion.  Dr Deepika Vig, Vice President, Alumni Association proposed Vote of Thanks to all the officers and distinguished guests.
