DR KAMALJEET SINGH SURI joined as Joint Director (Students’ Welfare), PAU, Ludhiana on November 20, 2024. Earlier he was serving as Principal Entomologist in the Department of Entomology, PAU.

Achievements/ Contributions

• Successfully handled 16 research projects funded by national agencies like DST, UGC, MoA&FW, GoI; I.C.A.R., NABARD, NRTT & SRTT, and Punjab Government; and 40 Pesticide Industry sponsored projects
• Published 72 full research papers, 03 review papers, 03 book chapters, 114 popular articles in Punjabi & English, 09 extension booklets, 03 flip folders and 06 pamphlets
• Contributed 72 recommendations in the PAU Package of Practices
• Delivered 47 TV, Radio & PAU Facebook live talks on IPM in field crops and prepared 05 Video-capsules for creating awareness on judicious use of pesticides
• Delivered 167 lectures on IPM during various Kisan Melas/Field days/District level farmers’ training camps/Crop Seminars/Workshops/Tele-Conferences etc
• Compiled and Edited 04 Brief Package of Practices (02 in English & 02 in Hindi) and revised the book, ‘Field problems of important crops’ for 04 successive editions
• Member, Editorial board of PAU monthly magazines, Progressive Farming and Changi Kheti and Member, Advisory Board of PAU Live programme, ‘Kisanbani’
• Maintain a good rapport/ Liaision with extension agencies like State Department of Agriculture & Horticulture, Punjab Agri Export Corporation Ltd., NABARD Chandigarh, PAMETI Ludhiana, RGR Cell Ludhiana etc
• International exposure: Advanced training at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, USA for 06 months
