Afzal Ahmad obtained B. Sc. Agri. (Hons.) degree from PAU Ludhiana and M. Sc. (Agronomy) degree from UAS Dharwad. He worked as a Landscape Engineer from 2003 to 2007 for Al-Yamamah Company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He served as SMS (Agronomy) at KVK Ambala from 2008 to 2015. He joined PAU as Assistant Professor (Agronomy) at KVK Jalandhar in May 2015. Then he served as Scientist (Seed Production) at University Seed Farm (USF), Nabha from 2015 to 2025. He currently serves as Agronomist in the Department of Agronomy, PAU Ludhiana (2025-present). He has published 20 research papers, 5 extension bulletins, 1 book chapter.
