Brief Introduction

Dr. Amandeep Kaur joined PAU as Assistant Entomologist on 21.04.2010 after completing B.Sc. Agri (Hons.) from PAU, Ludhiana (2001); M.Sc., GBPUA&T, Pantnagar (2003); Ph.D., BHU, Varanasi (2008). She worked as District Extension Specialist (FASS Patiala), PAU Ludhiana (2010-2016) and joined as Entomologist (2017 onwards) in PAU, Ludhiana main campus. She joined as Senior Entomologist on 21.04.2022 (till date). She involved in studying biology, ecology and development of IPM technologies for the major insect pests of cotton. She has completed five research projects funded by different agency and 22 industry sponsored projects. She has guided three M.Sc. and two Ph.D. students as major advisor and published 57 research papers in journals of national and international repute, one book chapter in book published under springer. She has published 44 extension articles on identification and management of vegetables and field crop and delivered 153 lectures and 30 TV/radio talks. She has conducted 25 field demonstrations, 57 adaptive research trials and monitoring and surveillance tour in vegetable and field crop of Punjab at farmer’s field. Her research work got four times best oral/poster presentation award in international and national conferences.

  1. Determination of level of insecticide resistance in tomato fruit borer, Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) infesting tomato” funded by NIPHM in 2018 as Co-PI
  2. Bio-efficacy of herbal formulations against sucking insect pests and lepidopteran pests in brinjal and okra in Punjab funded by NIF. Autonomous body of DST, GOI in 2020 as Co-PI
  3. Enhancing Cotton Productivity through Dissemination of Integrated Pest Management Strategies under Public Partnership Mode- GSP private Limited in 2021 funded by GSP private Limited as Co-PI
  4. Development and Validation of Integrated Pest Management Technologies for Pink bollworm in Transgenic Cotton in 2022 funded by RKVY as Co-PI
