Dr. Amandeep S. Sidhu is working as Senior Agronomist at the School of Organic Farming, PAU, with 15+ years’ experience in extension, research and teaching. He is Co-PI of the ICAR-funded All India Network Programme on Natural Farming and has handled 19 other research/industry-sponsored projects. His expertise includes Organic/Natural Farming and Integrated Farming Systems, leading to 14 technologies adopted in PAU’s Package of Practices. He has authored 50 research papers, 11 book chapters, 150 extension articles and more. He has conducted 68 training programmes, 95 KVK trainings, 292 lectures, 13 TV/radio talks and participated in 76 conferences, winning 8 best paper awards. He has taught 13 UG/PG courses, guided 6 students, revised 2 courses and served on 10 PG  committees. He played key roles in MoUs with FiBL and NCONF, and is Editor of Progressive Farming, President of PAU INSPIRE Club and has received 6 appreciationcertificates and several academic honours.

Research Interests:

• Enhancing the productivity and long-term sustainability of field crops through Organic and Natural farming practices
• Long-term impact of organic and natural farming practices on soil microbial diversity, carbon sequestration, and ecosystem services
• Development and evaluation of Integrated Farming Systems (IFS) and Integrated Organic Farming Systems (IOFS) for diverse agro-climatic zones

Awards and Recognitions:

1. Received best oral presentation prize (as lead speaker) for research paper entitled, “Production of organic wheatgrass under different growing media” in National Symposium on, “Food Processing 4.0: Innovation and Sustainability” April 30, 2024 organized by Department of Food Science and Technology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab.
2. Received best oral presentation prize (as lead speaker) for research paper entitled, “Balancing Productivity and Soil Health: A Study on Organic, Natural and Integrated Farming Systems in Northern India” in Indian Ecological Society International Conference (IESIC 2024) on “Transforming Agrifood Systems in the Face of Climate Changes and Energy Transitions” from November 12 to 15, 2024 at the Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India.
3. As a chairman of Academic Committee (Extension), School of Organic Farming, PAU, awarded first prize in, “PAU field demonstrations” in stall competition in kisan mela held at PAU, Ludhiana on 23 and 24/09/2022 organized by Directorate of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.
