Dr. Amit Guleria joined as an Economist (QM) in the Department of Economics and Sociology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, on 13.12.2018. He holds a B.Sc. (Forestry, 2012), M.Sc. (Agricultural Economics, 2014), and Ph.D. (Agricultural Economics, 2018) from Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni. He is working under the departmental scheme “Establishment of Department of Economics and Sociology, R&E-27 (PC-1054.2)” and submitted a report titled “A Study into the Economics of Farming and the Pattern of Income and Expenditure Distribution in Punjab Agriculture.” He has published 75 research papers, two book chapters, and one extension article. He has guided three M.Sc. students and is currently guiding two M.Sc. and two Ph.D. scholars

- He received the first-best presentation award at the second conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Development and Policy (ISADP) for the paper entitled “Exodus from Rural Punjab: Analysing its Drivers” authored by Shalini Sharma, Amit Guleria and Manjeet Kaur
- He awarded with Dr Manmohan Singh Memorial best oral presentation award in the ICSSR and NABARD sponsored Regional Seminar Innovations in agriculture and Value Chain Management for Rural Development in NW Region of India in the Eternal University, Baru Sahib on 27-28th March, 2025 for the paper entitled “Economic Valuation of paddy-agro ecosystems in Punjab” authored by Anuvesh Rikhi and Amit Guleria.
