Brief Introduction

Dr. Bhupinder Kaur Babbar joined PAU as Assistant Professor on 2005 after completing her Ph D from PAU in 1997. Then she promoted to Senior Zoologist (Rodents) (2017-2020), Principal Zoologist (Rodents) (2020-contd). 

Her field of Specialization is Reproductive biology of mammals, Integrated Mammalian Pest Management, Development of repellents, pheromones and antifertility agents based formulations for mammalian pest management.

Professional Accomplishments

Research Projects completed:

  1. 1. Testing bioefficacy of brodifacoum rodenticide against rodent pests in rice and sugarcane crops-Syngenta India Ltd, Pune-2022 (completed in 2024) 
  2. Conservation and restoration of ecology of River Beas including rejuvenation of aquatic life in the wake of spillage of molasses, Punjab Pollution Control Board (Completed in 2023)
  3. Molecular characterization of VKORC1 gene for variation in relation to bromadiolone resistance in Rattus rattuspopulation-UGC, New Delhi (completed in 2017) 

4 . Evaluation of new safer formulation of zinc phosphide (40% powder) for rodenticidal activity in field conditions- M/s Excel Crop Care Limited, Mumbai (completed in 2016)

  1. Testing bioefficacy of a herbal rodenticide/chemosterilant (BIO) against house rat, Rattus rattus- M/s Pidilite Industries Ltd, Delhi (completed in 2009).
