Dr. Dimpy Raina joined PAU as Assistant Professor on 01.08.2014 after completing B.Sc. Agri (Hons) from PAU, Ludhiana in 2007 and M. Sc. (Pomology) in 2010. She did her PhD Horticulture (Fruit Science) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana in 2013. She has worked as research fellow in the project entitled “Bread: An alternate Dwarfing Gene System to Improve Abiotic Stress Tolerance in Cereals” under USAID project. She has joined Assistant Professor Horticulture in Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Ludhiana in 2013. Then, in 2014 she joined as Assistant Professor Horticulture at KVK Ferozepur up to April 2023. Currently, since 2023 she is working as Assistant Professor Fruit Science in Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana ((till date). She has gained 10 years’ experience in extension services in field of horticulture. Imparted many trainings and developed entrepreneurship capability in many farmers of Ferozepur district. She has made contributions to the PAU Package of Practices for fruit crops, with one recommendation on grapefruit. She has published 10 research papers, two book chapters, 16 extension articles. She has conducted 250 short-term training programs for farmers and farm women, 55 field days, 250 demonstrations, and 29 invited lectures on various fruit production technologies. In academics, she is guiding M.Sc. student as a major advisor in the discipline of Fruit Science. She has also served on the advisory committees of postgraduate students. She has taught courses undergraduate and postgraduate students and authored practical manuals for UG/PG classes. She has been recognized with two awards for best paper presentations during different national and international conferences.
