Brief Introduction

Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Chahal joined PAU as Assistant Professor on 19.03.2018 after completing B.Sc. (Botany Hons.) from Punjab University, Chandigarh in 2009. She did her M.Sc. (Botany) in 2011 and PhD (Botany) from PAU, Ludhiana in 2015. Her field of specialization is Morpho-physiological and Anatomical basis of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in vegetable crops and mitigation strategies. She is working in project “Mitigating abiotic stresses in potato and onion through crop improvement approaches” as Co-PI funded by State Govt under Revenue Rehabilitation and Disaster Management. She has guided 3 M.Sc. students and 1 PhD students as major advisor, published 21 research papers in national and international journals and presented 5 papers in national and international conferences. Presently, she is the Convener of the Fine arts and Heritage committee of CoBS&H and Member, External Examinations, CoBS&H.
