Brief Introduction

In August, 2006 Dr Harpal Singh Bhullar joined PAU as Asstt Prof. Plant Protection at KVK Jalandhar and presently he is working as Entomologist in the department under AICRP on vegetable crops scheme. His research is primarily focused on insect pest management of vegetable crops, screening of germplasm of vegetables crops against different insect pests alongwith popularization of PAU vegetable fruit fly traps as a non chemical method of management of melon fruit fly in cucurbits. He is also involved in teaching and research work of post graduate students wherein he has guided 5 MSC student .Besides, he is also actively  involved in co-curricular activities such as president of various sports clubs of university and incharge of Bhangra team of the Horticulture college. He is also performing the duty  as  Warden of P.G. Boys Hostel:7.  He has published more than 20 research articles and also attended various scientific group meeting, conferences and workshops in India.

  • Management of insect pests of vegetable crops
  • Identification of resistance  source against insect pests of vegetable crops

Projects accomplished: Bio-rational approached in fruit fly ( Bactocera sp.) management in cucurbitsand its large scale dissemination funded by National Horticulture Mission, Pb Govt as PI completed in March 2022.
