Dr Harmeet Singh Kingra is working as Senior Agricultural Economist since 2008, Department of Economics and Sociology, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana. He did his B.Sc. Agri. (Hons.) Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana 1992, M.Sc. Agri. Economics
PAU, Ludhiana (1992) and Ph.D. in Economics, GNDU, Amritsar (2016). He joined PAU  in 1996 as a District Extension Scientist (FM). His major area of research has remained Famers’ Distress and Cost of Cultivation. He has taught various courses related to Agricultural Economics at UG as well as PG levels
