Brief Introduction

Dr. Jasvir Singh Gill joined PAU as District Extension Specialist (equivalent to Assistant Professor) on 23.04.2010. He completed B Sc Agri (Hons) from Khalsa College Amritsar in 2004 and M Sc Agronomy in 2006 from PAU, Ludhiana. He persuaded Ph D in Agronomy as in-service candidate from January, 2019- April 2023. He was promoted to Senior Agronomist (equivalent to Associate Professor) from May, 2023. His field of specialization is Weed Management, Crop Residue Management, Aerobic Rice, designing of machinery for regenerative agriculture. He has completed one project as PI funded by Punjab Pollution Control Board and worked as Co PI in 5 projects funded by various agencies like ICAR, NABARD, GIZ Germany, Syngenta India, Ltd, Bayer Crop Sciences, etc.  He has one patent (granted) to his credit, published 20 research papers in national and international journals and presented 05 papers in national and international conferences. He has delivered 300 lectures to guide farmers and farm women. Presently he is working as Senior Agronomist in weed management section of the Department of Agronomy, PAU, Ludhiana.

  1. Popularization of Direct Seeded Rice through Mechanization and Improved Agronomic Practices in Rice-Wheat Cropping Systems in Punjab funded by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Govt. of Punjab in April, 2019.
  2. Farmers’ Network on Climate Resilient Agriculture in Punjab –A Pilot Study funded by GIZ (Germany Society for International Cooperation Ltd.), New Delhi
