Brief Introduction

Dr. Madhu Bala did her B.Sc. from Punjabi University, Patiala, M.Sc. from PAU, Ludhiana and Ph.D. from IARI, New Delhi. She joined PAU service in December 2010 as Assistant Floriculturist.  She is working under All India Coordinated Research Project on Floriculture, (AICRP) and also currently handing one Ad-hoc research project entitled “Strategies to overcome pre-fertilization barriers in chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat.) for improvement of self and cross compatibility traits” sanctioned by DST, SERB-POWER GRANT as Project Investigator (PI). She is also associated in the development of five chrysanthemum varieties, production technology on propagation of standard chrysanthemums and one introduction in tuberose. She has guided 23 M.Sc. and 4 Ph.D. students and guiding 4 M.Sc. and 2 Ph.D. students. She has published 50 research papers and participated in various conferences/workshops. She is also associated in writing of 1 book of CBSE board, 7 book chapters, 2 extension bulletins, 25 extension articles and 1 practical manual and having life membership of various societies. She has delivered 50 extension lectures, 3 radio talks and 4 TV talks.
