Brief Introduction

Dr. Mahesh Kumar Narang joined PAU as Assistant Professor (Agril. Engg.) at KVK, Kheri (Sangrur) on 21.06.2001.He did his PhD (Farm Power and Machinery) from PAU in 2010. He joined as Head of the department (11.06.2021 to 10.06.2025). He has completed seven research projects as PI/Co-PI under SRTT, DST, NFSM and Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, DOAC&FW.

He had published 17 research papers, 4 books, 6 book chapters, 6 full length papers/ abstracts in the national level conferences/symposia and 102 extension articles, 8 extension bulletins/manuals.He organized 196 vocational trainings/ short duration trainings, 2 Summer/winter schools, delivered 198 invitational lectures and delivered 82 TV talks/ radio talks. He had conducted 135 field demonstrations and 130 field days, attended 71 kisan melas and installed 110 exhibitions in various extension workshops/ Kisan mela’s etc. Five documentaries was made for the benefit of students/ farmers and extension personnel’s. He has guided 12 BTech (Projects), 4 M Tech and 3 PhD students as major advisor.

  1. Testing the efficacy of an un-recommended tractor-operated High-Volume Sprayer on cotton for management of insect Pests by Reviving Green Revolution Cell, Sir Rattan Tata Trust.
  2. Working as co-PI in Evaluation and Popularization of Technologies for Paddy Straw Management (Component A: Refinement and Popularization of Machinery for Paddy Straw Management) sanctioned under NFSM by the Department of Agriculture and Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India
  3. Worked as co-PI in the Mechanical harvesting of chickpea. DST
  4. AR/VR facility for Tractor Skill Development under NAHEP-Component 2
