Brief Introduction

Born on 30th January 1991 at Bathinda, Manpreet Singh completed B.Sc. Agriculture in 2013, M.Sc. Agronomy in 2015 and Ph.D. Agronomy in 2019 from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. Dr. Singh after completing Ph.D. joined Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare as Agriculture Development Officer at Bathinda. Later joined as Agronomist October, 2019 in the Department of Agronomy at Punjab Agricultural University and serving as Agronomist from till date. His field of specialization is Weed Science. Dr. Singh involved in 3-development, 10-testing of technologies of weed management in different crops. He completed 1-competitive and 6-adhoc projects as Co-PI under weed management. He is also associated in AICRP-WM research trials and annual report compilation. He published 6-research paper & book chapter and research work presented in 4 conferences. Under research/extension projects conducted 10-state wide weed survey, 51-FLDs, 38-OFTs; involved in organizing 8-field days, 2-exibutions; delivered 44-lectures, 7-radio talks, published 38-extension article, attended 3-ICAR sponsored trainings. Taught 20 Agronomy courses and guiding one M.Sc. student. He is NCC Incharge, College of Agriculture. He is life member of two professional societies – Indian Society of Weed Science and Indian Society of Agronomy.
