Dr Rubaljot Kooner joined as Assistant Professor (Plant Protection) at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bathinda on 02/01/2009 and then joined as Entomologist in the Department of Entomology in 2013 after she got transferred to the main campus PAU. She did B.Sc. Agri (Hons.) from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana in 2004 and M.Sc. (Entomology) from PAU in 2006 and Ph.D. (Entomology) from PAU as an in-service candidate in the year 2017. Currently she is working on IPM of rice along with handling various industry sponsored projects as principal investigator. She has also been involved in testing and release of various genotypes of rice. She has to her credit various recommendations on management of insect- pests of rice in Package of Practices-Kharif along with nine recommendations in PAU Package of Practices for Cultivation of Vegetables, from her earlier work on vegetable IPM. She is also delivering various lectures on IPM in rice in different extension training programmes. She has been a member of various committees at department, college and university level; she is a life member of two professional societies. Presently five students; 3 M.Sc and 2 Ph.D, are working under her supervision. She has published 30 research papers, 39 Extension articles and presented papers in various national and international conferences. She has also published one book chapter in international publisher (Springer); she has also published various extension folders and one training bulletin on integrated pest management of insect pests of rice.

Awards and Recognitions:
Best Paper Award for the paper “Reduced risk insecticides against fruit borer Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) on tomato” was awarded first best paper award at National symposium on agrochemicals for food and environment safety at IARI, New Delhi from 28-30th January, 2015.
She has also got ‘Letter of Appreciation’ from Director Students’ Welfare for successful hosting of 31st North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival held from 14.1.2016 to 18.1.2016. She has also successfully completed 21 days training at CCS HAU Hisar.
