Dr Nisha Vashishat has Joined PAU after completeing her education i.e B.Sc. and  M.Sc., from GNDU, Amritsar in 2004 and 2006 respectively and then Ph.D. from PAU, Ludhiana in 2011. She provided her services as Assistant Ornithologist (2011- March 2018), Zoologist (April 2018-2023) Senior Zoologist (2023 onwards). She also have State level merit Scholarship (2000-01), GNDU merit Scholarship (2002-06), M.Sc. Gold Medalist (GNDU), PAU merit fellowship (2008-09), CSIR-Junior Research Fellowship (2009-11), CSIR/UGC- National Eligibility Test: Dec. 2009 to her credit
