Brief Introduction

Dr. Pervinder Kaur joined PAU as Assistant Chemist (Residue) on 11.07.2012 after completing BSc (Hons. School Chemistry) from GNDU, Amritsar in 1998 and M.Sc. (Hons. School Chemistry from GNDU, Amritsar in 2000. She did her PhD (Organic Chemistry) from GNDU, Amritsar in 2005. Later she held the position of Senior Chemist (Residue) from 27.08.2022 (till date). Her field of specialization is Herbicide Residue Analysis. She is currently managing All India coordinated Research Project on Weed Management as Principal Investigator and has worked in 6 projects as Co-PI. She has published 67 peer reviewed research papers, 5 international book chapters, 3 Review papers and 14 popular articles. She has presented 32 papers in conferences/symposium/seminars. She is member editorial board of Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and toxicology, Springer (2016-till date) and Indian Journal of Weed Science. Besides this, she has served as reviewer for 20 international journals. She has guided 17 M.Sc. and 3 Ph.D. students as major advisor.

  1. Herbicide use advice to wheat growers to manage resistant Phalaris minor following RISQ (Resistance In-season Quick) test (2018-2020) as Co-PI  
  2. Biology of Phalaris minor and the effect of agronomic practices in rice-wheat production systems in Punjab for the development of an integrated management strategy (2020-21) as Co-PI
  3. Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Universities and Higher Educational Institutions (FIST), Department of Science and Technology- (2023-25) – Rs 200 lakh as Co-PI
