Dr. Rohit Saini joined Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) as Agricultural Economist on 04th September, 2024. He completed his B.Sc. Agriculture (Honours) from Khalsa College, Amritsar, in 2014 and holds a M.Sc. Agricultural Economics from PAU, Ludhiana, awarded in 2017. He completed his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from PAU in 2021 as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) under Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). The title of his Ph.D. Dissertation was “Income and inequality among farm households in Punjab”. Before joining PAU, Dr. Saini served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Agriculture, Khalsa College Amritsar (2017), Research Fellow in the Department of Economics and Sociology at PAU (June 2021 to August 2022) and Fellow in the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi (August 2022 to September 2024). He has published 11 research papers in national and international journals and has presented five research papers at reputed academic conferences. Currently, he is also serving as an assistance member of the internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at PAU and a counselor on the editorial board of the Indian Society for Agricultural Development and Policy.
