Brief Introduction

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar is a dedicated Agricultural Economist with a meritorious academic background. He holds an M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from SKUAST-Jammu and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan (Himachal Pradesh). Dr. Kumar is a recipient of the University Gold Medal for his outstanding performance during his Ph.D. programme. He has also qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) in the discipline of Agricultural Economics. He joined Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana as an Agricultural Economist in the Department of Economics and Sociology on June 4, 2021, and has been serving in this position since then. With a strong publication record, Dr. Kumar has authored over 40 research publications, including 5 popular articles, contributing significantly to the fields of agricultural production economics and agricultural marketing. He is an active member of three professional societies and serves on the editorial boards of two magazines, further demonstrating his engagement with the academic and professional community. His areas of expertise include agricultural production economics and agricultural marketing, through which he continues to contribute to research, policy analysis, and capacity building in Indian agriculture.

  1. Social Impact Assessment for land acquisition in Village Alour, Khanna (Apr 2022), funded by Department of Local Government, Govt. of Punjab as Co-PI.
  2. Social Impact Assessment for pumping station at Village Taraf Saidan, Ludhiana (Oct 2022), funded by SDM-cum-LAC, Ludhiana as Co-PI.
  3. Social Impact Assessment for land acquisition in Village Bullepur, Khanna (Nov 2024), funded by Department of Local Government, Govt. of Punjab as Co-PI.
