Brief Introduction

Dr. Seema Sharma is the Head of the Department of Human Development and Family Studies at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, since November 7, 2023. With over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and extension, she has shown exemplary leadership in human development. Dr. Sharma has taught 38 UG and PG courses and played a key role in curriculum development across various academic programs. She initiated a one-year Certificate Course in Early Childhood Care and Education and has served as a paper setter and evaluator for 14 universities. She has mentored 14 M.Sc. and 9 Ph.D. students and authored 98 research papers, 15 book chapters, and 4 manuals. Her research focuses on mental health, media usage, socio-emotional well-being, and life skills. Dr. Sharma has presented papers in 17 conferences, acted as reviewer for various peer reviewed research journal and associated with many professional society. She has led 29 training programs, published 40 extension articles, delivered 6 radio/TV talks, and 23 expert lectures, contributing significantly to community outreach and education.
