Dr Shalini Sharma completed PhD from Punjab Agricultural University in 1996 and later joined as Assistant Professor of Sociology in 1997 in the department of Economics and Sociology, PAU, Ludhiana. She is Professor of Sociology since 2012. She has guided 17 M.Sc and 6 Ph.D students as Major Advisor. She has 67 research papers, 20 book chapters and various extension articles to her credit. Four of her research papers presented in National and International Conferences and Seminars were adjudged best. She has conducted three research projects funded by UGC, Punjab State Farmers’ Commission, and Government of Punjab in the capacity of Principal Investigator and two funded by ICAR as Co- Principal Investigator. •     She is Presiding Officer of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) of PAU, mandated under UGC, Regulation, 2015. 
•   She is Secretary of Society for Advancement of Academics, Sports and Cultural   Activities (SAASCA), COBS&H, PAU Ludhiana.
•   She is currently serving as  Treasurer in Indian Society for Agricultural Development and Policy, Ludhiana (ISADP).
