She completed her B.Sc. from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla in 2008, and her M.Sc. in Microbiology from Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, in 2011. She earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology from the same university in 2015.She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, since February 2021.
